JV Soccer Faces Some Peaks and Valleys

This past week was a mix of ups and downs. Defensively, we have been solid this season, allowing only 12 goals thus far, with six of those goals coming in the Rockford game. While we've done a great job of limiting quality chances, there have been key moments when we've lost focus and allowed opportunities that we typically shut down. One of these moments occurred Monday against Lowell unfortunately. It was a tough 1-0 loss late in the game. On Friday, against Jenison, we uncharacteristically allowed a handful of quality opportunities; however, some big saves allowed us to keep control of the game. We were also able to generate a solid amount of offense and possession. It was awesome to witness the growth in the team that has come from their hard work. A 5-1 win was a great result for us Friday night. This team has been amazingly upbeat and positive. I truly believe this is the reason we have been able to continue to compete, even while sustaining injuries. Looking forward to watching this positivity and growth continue as we head into our final week and a half of the season. On Monday, the JV team will be traveling with Varsity to Sparta. Kickoff is at 5pm and the bus loads at 3:30. We then travel to Allendale on Wednesday and Western Michigan Christian on Friday.
